Gold is an ore of low value unless you are of low money, requiring at least a Stone Pickaxe to mine the ore. It has the same texture as Copper, however the ore is switched horizontally. The colour of the ore is yellow and shiny, making it look very precious and valuable. Gold Rush allows you to discover the tough experience of gold mining. You start with just a few bucks, but with passing days, you become the wealthiest man in Alaska. We created a big, detailed world with four unique gold mining claims. On each, you will find a fully deformable terrain.

Without a doubt, this is one of my most favorite adventure games of all time. Two thumbs up!

Fixed it - all you have to do is play the game at Normal or Slow speed. That seemed to make the game's Timer run properly and should be able to get you through any sections of the story where it's required.

Regarding the timer question: I believe this is a known bug in the game where you can't change the speed of the game. I believe this happens a few times throughout the game. Very annoying.

I had the same problem as Jimbox114

Even with Dosbox I can't get this game to work right. At the start of the game there are several things that happen to progress the story based upon a timer. For whatever reason that timer doesn't seem to work on newer computers even under dosbox. Without it you can't get out of the first area of the game.
